ACT-MX is the media of choice for LEED Project

The recently completed Animal Foundation Facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, designed to meet LEED Certification, uses ACT-MX Media in its water treatment system. The “Living Machine” is designed to recycle water for reuse at the facility. Living Designs Group, LLC specified the use of 715 yards of ACT-MX Media from ES Filter for the project.

The Animal Facility Campus, located at 655 N. Mojave Road in Las Vegas, was designed to “Take care of animals as well as the environment…” said Janie Greenspun-Gale, chairwoman of the Animal Foundation. The new facility has the capacity to rescue 45,000 animals annually and can house over 1000 dogs. The campus was designed to meet LEED or “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” Certification through an environmentally friendly and sustainable design. J. Windom Kimsey, a principal at Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects said, “As architects, there is a social responsibility to design in a way that conserves our natural resources.” The superior characteristics of ACT-MX Media make it a wise choice when water treatment needs arise.
