Optima Biltmore Towers located near 24th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix, AZ features 230 luxury condominiums in a 15-story glass-and-steel building with two uniquely contoured towers and a four-story front section that is the main lobby plus a two-story party and fitness facility. The design contained sustainable, environmental-friendly features including photovoltaic panels to capture the sun’s energy, exterior sun shades to inhibit heat absorption; and the use of a green roof system to enhance the environment.

The condo tower boasts a plethora of shared garden spaces and a 20,000 square-foot sky garden. Utelite Corporation provided the lightweight planting media required for the rooftop garden areas. The lightweight planting media was engineered to meet the requirements of the rooftop garden system and the needs of the selected plants.
